可这样的想法是错误的。一昧承受并无条件地包容他人只会使人失去自我。如果一个人无法在世界万物中分辨出自己的喜恶的话，那么他便已然失去生命的意义，成为了空洞的躯壳。于这样的生命而言，生活是无分是非、漫无目的的。

我们总是诱骗或安慰自己：避免拒绝他人或者被他人拒绝能让我们获得心灵的愉悦。可是，这种短期愉悦只会让我们越来越失去人生的目标与方向。  若想真正懂得一件事物的真谛，你就必须心无旁骛、专心致志。无论是在人际关系、工匠手艺还是职业成就领域，人若想得到生命的至高、至乐，就必须以专一无二的目标与数十年的投入为前提。在纷杂的同类代替物前，如果不懂得拒绝，那所有的心血便都是白费。

       那么同样地，想要找到自己的价值观，也必须以拒绝其他为前提。如果我已下定决心以婚姻为人生的重心，那我（可能）便不会把放荡生活再列入人生追求中。而如果我已经选择了自由开放、广泛交友来作为一项重要能力，那我便不会再在面对朋友中当面一套、背面一套。我并不是说，这些决定本身有什么不对，而只是因为我们在作出某项决定时，必须舍弃另外一些。

重点便在于此：为了凸显出我们一些事物的珍视，我们必须对另外一些事物不屑一顾。为了凸显出这些事物的重要性，我们必须舍弃其他。我们既然选中了它，那么我们非它不可。 学会拒绝是捍卫价值观、也是捍卫自我中不可或缺的一部分。正是那些被我们拒绝的事物定义了我们的个性。如果我们（因害怕被他人拒绝）而对所有事物都一视同仁，我们便无法得到自我与个性。

避免摩擦纷争、不顾一切代价地求全求和、对所有事物都一视同仁、对所有人都无条件宽容……这些倾向其实都是对权利思想的精妙伪装。由于渴望权利的人总想时刻保持愉悦，便从不拒绝任何事，因为这么做总会让某人感觉不适。也正因为他们从不拒绝，他们的生活变得只剩愉悦与狭隘，失去了本真的意义。对于那些不可避免地失败后果，他们自欺欺人，躲在自己的世界。

为了懂得生活，懂得拒绝是我们不可或缺的一项技能。

随着人类积极性/消费者文化的扩张，我们当中的许多人被灌输了这样一种思想——我们应当尽可能地去接受与肯定。这种思想正是许多所谓积极思考类书籍的（理论）基石：让自己对（一切）机遇和可能敞开心灵之门，接受它们。并对所有人和所有人说"是"，诸如此类。

但是，我们需要拒绝某些东西。否则，我们将变得毫无立场。 如果没有什么东西（对于我们自己来说）是比其他任何东西更宝贵的，那么我们（的内心）就是空虚的，我们的生命也将毫无意义。我们缺失了我们的价值观，我们的生活也将会因此而失去目标。

避免拒绝（不论是拒绝给予还是接受）总是欺骗着我们，让我们以为这是一种让自己感觉轻松和良好的方式。避免拒绝看似让我们获得了短暂的乐趣，但是（同时），从长远上来讲，让我们（的人生）变得没有前进的目标与方向感。

要（学会）真正欣赏某些东西，你必须将自己专注并奉献于此。只有当你花费数十年时间倾注于一段单一的关系上，一种单一的工艺，一个单一的职业生涯时，才能达到一定程度的快乐和获得（真正的）意义。如果你无法拒绝（那些所谓的）替代品，你就无法实现这数十年的投资。

为你自己（的人生）选择和确定价值需要学会拒绝（其他的）替代性的价值。（比如说，）如果我选择我的婚姻应当成为我生命中最重要的部分，那就意味着我（可能）也选择了不让那些吸食可卡因成瘾的妓女成为我生命中的重要部分。如果我选择根据自己开放和接受友谊的能力来评判自己，那就意味着我要拒绝在我们的背后诋毁我的朋友。这些都是正确的决定，尽管它们每次都需要拒绝来实现。

重点就在于：当我们为了将某些东西作为我们的价值体现，我们都必须为此做些什么。为了重视这些东西，我们必须拒绝除此之外的替代品。（简单来说）将X作为我们的价值，我们就必须拒绝非X.

拒绝是保留和维护我们的价值观以及我们存在的固有和必要的一部分。（换句话说，）我们的人生是由被我们选择拒绝的东西所定义的。 如果我们拒绝不了任何事情（也许是因为害怕被我们自己拒绝），我们基本上没有任何存在的意义可言。

这种想法——不惜一切代价避免拒绝，避免对抗和冲突，试图平等接受一切并使一切凝聚和协调，是一种深刻而微妙的权利形式。具有权利的人认为应当在所有时刻都要保持轻松的感觉，因此而避免拒绝任何事情。而正是避免拒绝任何事物却反而会让他们自己或其他人感觉糟糕。而且也正是如此，他们过着毫无价值的、由快乐所驱动的、自我陶醉的生活。所有他们所说的都是为了避免那些生命中不可避免的失败，以此假装痛苦消失。

（由此看来，）拒绝是一项重要而关键的生活技能。

在这个积极向上，或者说是消费文化独占鳌头的时代，我们许多人也都被灌输了这样的想法：我们生来就应该是全盘接受、点头称是的。这也是那些标榜积极思考的书一直推行的所谓的核心理念：敞开心扉，拥抱机遇，学会接受，对所有事、所有人都持肯定态度等等这类说法。

但我们还是要学会拒绝一些东西，不然，我们就相当于是毫无立场、随波逐流。如果我们无欲无求，认为所有的事都好、都无所谓，那么我们的灵魂就是空虚的，我们的生命也毫无意义。价值理念是人生的指路明灯，抛弃了它，我们的人生也就失去了目标，只得像行尸走肉一般浑浑噩噩。

人们也经常把避免拒绝（包括拒绝他人和被他人拒绝）的想法硬塞给其他人，好像会让所有人都好过一点。在短期内，我们或许能收获一些快乐，但从长远来看，这只会让我们变得像一只失去方向的小船，茫然不知所从。

想要真正地接受、赞赏其他事物，我们也必须将自己沉浸于此。只有了花费数十年的时间投资在一种关系、一项工艺、一个行业，我们才会有一种纯粹的快乐，获得人生的终极意义。但如果我们不能拒绝其他选项，我们也就无法在这条道路上笔直前行。

选择一定价值，就拒绝其他的价值观。如果我选择婚姻作为我人生最重要的事情，那就意味着我不可能在妓女身上耗费精力，而毁灭婚姻。如果我选择根据自己的能力来交友，那就是说，我不能在背后捅朋友的刀子。这都是对人生有益的抉择，而做出这些抉择就要学会拒绝。

所以重点就是，为了接受一些事物，我们就必须拒绝其他。而想要珍视一些东西，就要蔑视其他的东西。想要看重X，我们就要拒绝非X。

拒绝是维护我们的价值观以及我们身份的固有的、必要的一部分。我们拒绝的事物将会定义我们本身。如果我们什么都不拒绝（也许是因为害怕被自我否定），从本质上说，我们也就毫无自我，如同一片虚影。

不惜一切代价避免拒绝，回避矛盾和冲突，试图一视同仁、接受所有，并粉饰太平，希望所有事物都和谐共处的固执想法，其实是一种深藏的权力主义。那些位高权重的人避免拒绝任何事情，是因为他们觉得他们应该一直感觉良好，享受一切，也是因为这样做可能会让他们或其他人感觉不好。而且因为他们避免拒绝任何东西，他们过着毫无价值，毫无快乐可言，自我陶醉的生活。所有他们所说的都是为了躲避他们生命中不可避免的失败，假装痛苦消失罢了。

拒绝是我们生活中一项非常重要且关键的技能。

作为不断延伸的积极性/消费文化的受害者，我们中的许多人被"灌输"了这样一种信念：我们应该尽可能地从本质上接受和肯定。这个观点的来源是是许多所谓的"引发人们积极思考书籍"的基石：勇于挑战自己，抓住机会，学会包容万象，对每件事和每个人以及其他各个方面都说"是"。

但这些说法否认了我们需要拒绝一些东西的权利。试想，对什么都说是，就等于对什么都没有立场。如果没有什么于你而言是更好或更令人向往的，那么我们便是精神上匮乏的人，我们的生活也将毫无意义。对事物没有任何为之准绳的价值观的生活本身也就失去了目的。

我们常常使自己相信避免被拒绝和避免拒绝别人可以让我们在心理上感觉更良好。但是，以长远的眼光看，避免被拒绝和避免拒绝别人虽然给予了我们短期的乐趣，但是与此同时，我们的人生也就变得将就，变得没有方向，甚至于我们会迷茫着生活的小船要驶向何处。

为自己选择合适的价值观需要就等同于拒绝其他的价值观。如果我更乐意选择让我的婚姻成为我生命中最浓墨重彩的一部分，那意味着我（可能）不会因为一时兴起而过上纸醉金迷朝三晚五的生活。如果我判断自己是个有着许多开放且值得接受的友谊关系的人，那么，我绝不是一个笑脸相迎背后插刀的人。这些看上去明智的决定的背后是一次次在岔路口时不敢苟同其他价值观的坚守。

说到这里，其实我想传达的是：我们都必须对一些东西嗤之以鼻，才能真正信仰自己的价值观。为了践行我们的价值观，我们必须抵制一切与之相违的东西。就像事物非黑即白，对于一件事，如果它符合你的价值观，就接受，否则，就拒绝。

这种拒绝是维持我们价值观的一个固有和必要的部分，因此也是我们自身的身份标签。你选择和拒绝了什么足以说明你是什么样的人。如果我们什么都不拒绝（也许是因为害怕被自己拒绝），那么我们从本质上而言根本就没有自我。

不惜一切代价来避免拒绝、避免对抗和冲突，企图平等地接受一切并使一切协调一致，这莫过于一种深刻而微妙的形式主义，或曰"老好人"。这样的人，植根于他们内心深处的是强烈的自我实现主义，所以他们避免拒绝任何东西，担心拒绝可能会让他们自己或其他人感觉不好，而事实上，他们低估了任何一个人接受拒绝的能力。也正因为他们不拒绝任何一样事情，他们的生活也就失去了价值快乐甚至他们没有片刻完全是为自己而活。他们所拒绝的是让自己生活中的愉悦延续的更长一点，他们所拒绝的是接受生活中总有一些事情的结果是无可避免的失败的事实，他们以为，不拒绝，痛苦就好像从来没有来过。

拒绝本身是一门重要而关键的生活艺术。

随着积极文化和消费文化的强力渗透，一种理念深入人心：我们竭尽全力让自己似乎与生俱来就接受和肯定所有事情。

    避免拒绝，不管是拒绝他人还是接纳被拒，这种想法总是吸引着消费者们，让我们觉得这种方式能让自己更为舒适。但是，避免拒绝让我们有了片刻欢愉，但却让我们长时期没有目的、没有方向。

    如果你想真的理解某个事情，并且使它增值①，那么你必须把你自己全身心的通入进去。当你在一生中只有真的能投入几十年的时间在一段关系、一项技艺、一个职业中时，你才能达到一定的快乐和找到一定的意义。

    追寻你最重视的那一部分东西意义意味着你必须削减你对其他东西的重视。如果我选择让婚姻成为我人生中最重要的部分，那么这（或许）就意味着，我不会把花天酒地在灯红酒绿中寻欢作乐视为我生命中不可或缺的一部分。如果我在意的是对待朋友开诚布公、坦诚相待，那么我不会在朋友背后嚼舌根子。这些选择都良性健康，但是不管是哪种情况，都需要拒绝。

    关键在于：我们必须要对一些东西嗤之以鼻，才能真正重视其他东西。这就是说，如果我们真的在意某个东西，我们需要拒绝除他之外的所有东西。即在意它，那么眼中再无其它。

    拒绝是我们想要维持我们的价值和保持自我认同必不可少的，这种能力与生俱来。我们是由我们所拒绝的东西逐步被定性的。所以，不拒绝，或许是出于被自我纠缠的恐惧，但如果我们不拒绝任何事情，我们没有自己任何的特质。

    不计代价避免任何拒绝、对峙冲突，致力追求平等待物、和谐统一，这些思想是"赋能"的一种形式，根深蒂固却难以察觉。被赋能型的人，他们避免拒绝任何事情，因为他们认为拒绝会让他们自己或别人感到不适。这是因为他们好像觉得，自己应该无时不刻感到开心。但是，正因他们不拒绝，他们的生活并无意义，只为追求开心和"精致利己"。他们会拒绝的无非是些许缩短享受这样的快感时间，以防止他们人生中不可避免的失败，粉饰着苦难的存在。

    拒绝是生活技能中的重中之重。
